Uruz is the aurochs, the wild European ox, now extinct, hunted for its strength and its horns. The Anglo-Saxon rune poem describes it as fierce and high-horned, a beast feared on the moor. It stands for raw strength, physical endurance, a vitality that can't be fully tamed.
